Welcome to SOWSA@FAU!

Thanks for visiting our new Blog for SOWSA@FAU. SOWSA is the Social Work Student Association at Florida Atlantic University. Formerly called Acolyte, we have changed our name for the 2010-2011 academic year to better reflect who we are and what we do. In short, we are a student organization that provides support to our peers in the Social Work program at FAU. We strive to present opportunities to Social Work students that foster the advancement of academic and professional development. As such, we will host a series of professional workshops, social events, and service events in the upcoming months to support our mission. Please stay tuned for upcoming announcements that will provide dates and times for these events, as well as more information on our scheduled monthly meetings. In the meantime, please feel free to explore our blog, and meet the officers of SOWSA by clicking on the "2010-2011 SOWSA Officers" link at the top of the page.

Along the right hand side of this page is a list of our committees and our committee chairs. These committees will work to accomplish our objectives and goals. We are looking for students to join these committees, and BSW students that may want to serve as a "co-chair"on any of the committees. If you are interested in joining one of these committees, you may email the committee chair directly by clicking on their name, or you can send an email to our general email box at sowsa.fau@comcast.net to request a membership form, request additional information, share your ideas, or request to join a committee.
We are looking forward to your participation in SOWSA and to an amazing year. We welcome your ideas, your suggestions, and your feedback.
See you soon!
